ANNUAL WATER EXPERTS CONFERENCE
(AWEC 2002)
The
21st Annual Water Experts Conference (AWEC) will be held at the
Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) in Tanzania from 25 - 29th
November 2002. This year's theme is Water
and Information Technology. The

Derived from the Theme
Every
paper must relate to information and communication technology as applicable to
the water and sanitation sector.
PAPERS AND ABSTRACTS
The
general public and water sector staff are invited to prepare papers that
address any one of the Conference topics.
Intending authors are required to submit an abstract of not more than 300 words, to reach the
Conference Organizers not later than
20th September 2002. All abstracts
passing for papers will be published as part of Maji Review booklet for
circulation (1000 copies) to the conference delegates and sector
stakeholders. Papers for the selected
abstracts must be submitted by 20th
October 2002. Papers are strictly
limited to eight printed pages in standard font 12pt (Times New Roman)
including appendices, tables, diagrams and photographs, if any. Offer of papers by upcountry and women
authors are highly encouraged.
ADVERTISEMENTS
The
Maji
Review booklet will carry advertisements on water-related services,
products and ICT equipment. Those who
are interested, including the Ministerial and Sector Institutions are invited
to advertise by contacting the Conference Organizers. A modest fee will be charged for the advertisements. A full colour A5 page will cost TShs 300,000/=. Half page and Black & White adverts will
not be processed.
EXHIBITION & POSTERS
An
exhibition and posters for water-related products and services, as well as information and communication technologies useful
to the water and sanitation sector, is scheduled to take place during the
conference to complement conference activities. Those interested in exhibiting and displaying posters, at the
conference lobby, should contact the Conference Organizers. There will be no exhibition or posters
charges.
SEMINAR
A
seminar on the recently approved National Water Policy (2002) will be held
during the Conference.
PARTICIPANTS
The
conference will draw participants from all sector players within and without
the country. Moreover, this year all DWEs in mainland Tanzania are invited to
the conference.
