Board of External Trade (BET)

Mission:

BET's mission is to develop and promote Tanzania's international trade with a view to maximising net foreign exchange earnings and savings through the provision of a range of technical and advisory services to public and private sector enterprises active in the field of external trade.

Functions: 

• To advice the Government on matters related to the formulation, development, supervision and implementation of National export policy.
• To provide consultancy and advisory services on matters connected with external trade to the Government, specified organisations and any other persons or category of persons which the Minister may approve.
• To cooperate with other bodies or organisations engaged in the provision of consultancy and advisory services in Tanzania and elsewhere in the formulation and implementation measures calculated to foster encourage and promote the expansion and use of modern techniques in conducting external trade.
