Mission

Be a nation with high level of education at all levels; a nation which produces the quality and quantity of educated people sufficiently equipped with the requisite knowledge to solve the society’s problems, in order to meet the challenges of development and attain competitiveness at regional and global levels.   Realization of  Universal Primary Education (UPE), eradication of illiteracy and attainment of a level of tertiary education and training commensurate with a critical high quality human resources required to effectively respond to the development challenges at all levels.

  • Arranging the format of examinations, for primary and secondary school

Councils

National Examination Council of Tanzania:

The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) was established by the Parliamentary Act No. 23 of 1973. It is responsible for the administration of all national examinations in Tanzania, and awards official diplomas in primary, secondary and post secondary education, excluding universities.

The National Arts Council:

The National Arts Council was established by the Parliamentary Act no. 23 of 1984.  Its role is to foster the development of art with the emphasis in music, theatre arts and works of art.  The art activities are performed by not less than 4 million people in groups, associations, companies and individually, mostly the production of art depends on individual talented artist with simple tools.

 

Kiswahili Council of Tanzania:

The Kiswahili Council of  Tanzania is responsible for the development of Kiswahili language.
