Vision

Mission

The vision a of the Presidency is to coordinate and oversee that decision making in the country is governed by professionalism, impartiality, objectivity, integrity, transparency and accountability The Mission of the Presidency is to administer the country in accordance with the constitution, improve the quality of life and social economic welfare of all Tanzanians.

Functions

  • To oversee Cabinet Affairs and Good Governance

  • Prevention of Corruption, Implementation of the Recommendations of the Commission of Enquiry on Corruption.

  • Monitoring of the Public Leaders' Ethics and Abuse of Power, Accountability and Transparency.

  • Coordination of State Organs of Prevention of Corruption and Ethics (Prevention of Corruption Bureau, Permanent Commission of Enquiry and Public Leaders Ethics Secretariat) and Capacity Building.

  • Strengthening of Legal Regime (Prevention of Corruption Laws and Ethics Regulatory Framework).

  • Interfacing the Government and the Civil Society, Participation, Education, Prevention of Corruption Programmes, and Mass Media.

  • State Ceremonies

  • Development of Human resources under this Office.

The Cabinet Affairs Office

  • work out programmes for the Cabinet meeting and prepares the agenda for each meeting; 

  • records minutes and maintains a record of Cabinet meetings; 

  • notifies and explains Cabinet decision to every person or public institution concerned with any such decisions; and 

  • discharges any other duties and functions as directed by the President.                       

The Good Governance Office

The Good Governance Office with the vision to create Tanzania that observes the rule of law, protects human rights and which is politically, economically, and socially peaceful, stable and dynamic by year 2025, has the following functions: 

  • monitoring of public leaders' ethics and abuse of power accountability and transparency;

  • coordination of state organs of prevention of corruption and ethics and capacity building;

  • strengthening of legal regime, prevention of corruption laws, ethics, and regulatory framework; and 

  • interfacing the Government and the Civil Society, participation, education, prevention of corruption programmes and mass media.
