Home GovernmentEmployeesEthical Conduct

A Code of Ethics and Conduct for the Public Service has being issued for the first time since our independence in 1961. During the colonial rule a Code of Ethics and Conduct was inherent in different laws and regulations. This approach continued even after independence since these laws and regulations were not easily available to all public employees. People were generally unaware of expected ethical conduct. In order for the Public Service to be efficient and respected, public servants shall behave, conduct and observe the Code of Ethics and conduct which stipulates Pursuit of Excellence in Service, Loyalty, Diligence, Impartiality, Integrity, Accountability, Respect of Law and Proper use of official information. For more information visit Ethics Secretariat.
