Immigration Offences

Key offences related to documentation functions include:

•  False declaration, return or statement for the purpose of obtaining or assisting another person to obtain residence permits, passes, or certificates.

• Alterations of any permit, certificate, pass, endorsement, or other authorization.

• Permitting any permit, pass, certificate, and authorization to be used by another person not entitled to do so.

• Use   of forged permit, certificate, pass, or any similar document. 

• Failure to comply with any term or condition imposed in respect of any permit, certificate, or pass.

•  Employment of any person who is not a citizen of Tanzania and who does not have a lawful permit, pass, or certificate.

• Engaging in employment, occupation, trade, business, or profession, without being in possession of a valid residence permit or any pass.

•  Falsely representing any passport, permit, pass, or written authorization issued to another person as being such document issued to oneself.

• Aiding, abetting, or harbouring any person whom one knows, or has reasonable ground for believing, to have committed any of the foregoing offences.

• Being in the Country without a valid pass, permit or any legal authorization from Immigration.
