This website is prepared and managed by Population Planning Unit (PPU). The unit is under Social Services and Human Resources Division of the Ministry of Planning, Economy and Empowerment.

The site Objective is to provide a single point of access to a comprehensive collection of Tanzania population information and statistics provided by government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs); and both local and International NGOs dealing with population activities.
Indeed, the site provides official, reliable

and authoritative information about Tanzania’s current and emerging population information.

PPU is intending to maintain its leadership position on matters pertaining to the population information needs of the Tanzanian population and all other interested parties. I therefore ask all local and international stakeholders to provide valuable advice on how better we can achieve our goal of providing this strategic information to all.

I am confident, that the information presented in this website will form the basis for meaningful discussion that will culminate in improvement of our information provision service to benefit all Tanzanian and all other stakeholders.
