Pre-Primary education is a vital preparation stage in the education cycle. The Government of Tanzania has formalized and integrated it into the formal education system and requires each primary school to have a pre – primary class admitting 5-6 year old children. Pre-Primary Education cycle lasts for 2 years with no examinations for promotion purpose. According to the Education and Training Policy (ETP) 1995, Pre Primary Education is intended to promote the overall personality development of the child, physical, mental, moral and social characteristics and capabilities. This level is important in molding the character of the child and enables acquistion of acceptable school culture before joining the world of education.
