Introduction: Water Development and Management Institute (WDMI), is an executive government agency in the Ministry of Water, established to meet the need for water technicians.
We invite all prospective students from Tanzania, East Africa, Nile Riparian Countries, SADC countries, other countries in Africa and beyond to apply for admission to studies (long- and short-term) in any of the fields in water development (water services) and water resources management. We also invite organizations and persons in need o advisory/ consultancy services in areas of water development (water services) and water resources management to communicate their needs to us so we can make arrangements for serving them.
Requirements:
4 years Bachelor of Engineering in Water Resources and Irrigation:
- The minimum admission qualification for entry to Bachelor’s Degree studies is possession
of Higher Diploma in Water Resources and Irrigation Engineering.
- Birth certificate
- CSEE and/or ACSEE certificates
- Holder of Ordinary Diploma in Water Supply and Sanitation Engineering, Hydrogeology
& Well Drilling, Hydrology & Meteorology, Water Laboratory Technology, Civil Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, and other fields related to Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering with minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7
Three years ordinary diploma:
- Holder of Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Water Supply and Sanitation Engineering,
Hydrogeology & Well Drilling, Hydrology & Meteorology, Water Laboratory Technology, Civil Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, and other fields related to Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering with minimum average score of 3.0 points based on the following conversion scale: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2
- Holder of Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE) with principal pass in
Mathematics and Physics and a subsidiary pass in Chemistry or Geography with a minimum total score of 3.5 points based on the following conversion scale: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1, S=0.5 and F=0
- 1 year Certificate: Requirements for any certificate program are similar to diploma
programs.
- The minimum duration for attaining the Certificate is one academic year.
Procedures:

- Application fees should be paid through the bank.
- All attachments including academic certificates and bank pay slip should be enclosed
with the application forms.
- Dully filled application forms should be returned to WDMI Registrar office –
Administration block, at WDMI Campus, Ubungo, University Rd, off Sam Nujoma Rd, Dar es salaam.
