Dr. John Pombe Joseph Magufuli.
The President of the United Republic of Tanzania.He was born in October 29, 1959 in Chato District in Kagera Region, currently Chato District is in Geita Region. He is married to Janet Magufuli, a primary school teacher and are blessed with children.

Education Background.
Dr. John Pombe Joseph Magufuli attended his primary education at Chato Primary School from 1967 to 1974. He attended ordinary level secondary education at Katoke Seminary in Biharamulo and Lake Secondary School between 1975 and 1978. Magufuli attained Advanced Level Secondary Education at Mkwawa High School in Iringa between 1979 and 1981. He attended National service from 1983 to 1984 at Makutupora, Makuyuni and Mpwapwa Service Camps.
In 1981 to 1982 he attained a Diploma in Education Science majoring in Chemistry, and Mathematics at Mkwawa College of Education. He pursued Bachelor of Science in Education (Chemistry and Mathematics) from 1985 to 1988 at the University of Dar es Salaam. He attained his Master’s of Science in Chemistry from the University of Salford in the United Kingdom in 1994. Later he enrolled for PhD in Chemistry at the University of Dar es Salaam, where he successfully defended his thesis in 2009.

Career Background.
In 1995 General Elections Magufuli was elected for the first time Member of Parliament for Chato and the then President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Benjamin Mkapa, appointed him Deputy Minister for Works. In the 2000 General Election Dr. Magufuli was elected Member of Parliament representing Chato constituency once again. He was appointed Minister for Works by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
In the following elections of 2005 and 2010 Dr. Magufuli won the parliamentary seat for Chato Constituency unopposed and continued serving as a Minister for Lands, Housing and Human Settlements (2005-2008) also Minister for Livestock Development and Fisheries (2008-2010). His last docket before clinching presidency of the United Republic of Tanzania in 2015 was Minister for Works.
